Staff

Our staff is trained and certified as driver rehabilitation specialists as well as TEA licensed driving instructors. We have a combined experience of over 50 years in this industry and are considered by many to be among the best at what we do.

 

Chad, LOT-CDRS, President

Chad earned a BS in OT in 1987 from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. TDLR Licensed Teaching Assistant in 1990. He worked and help coordinate the driving program at TIRR. In 1993, he began a private practice clinic in driver rehabilitation. Chad was recognized with the Certificate of Professional Recognition in Driver Rehab (clinical, car, van) in 1994. Earned his CDRS in 1998. Served as President of ADED in 2004.

 
Ann, OTR-CDRS

Ann was born in Baton Rouge Louisiana, graduated high school in Beaumont, Texas and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. Ann has been practicing Occupational Therapy since 1985 and a Certified Driver Rehabilitation Specialist (CDRS) since 2002. Twelve of those years were spent at The Institute for Rehabilitation and Research (TIRR) and fourteen years at Strowmatt Rehabilitation Services as well as spending a year in between the two as a Vehicle Modification Sales Representative. While at TIRR Ann's positions ranged from Staff Occupational Therapist to Manager of the OT Department, Therapeutic Recreation Department, and Music Therapy Department. In 1998-1999 Ann started work for Driver Rehabilitation Services performing driving evaluations and driver training. Ann currently works for Strowmatt Rehabilitation continuing on with the role of a driver evaluator and trainer and is also a TDLR Licensed Teaching Assistant. She also serves as a Fieldwork Clinical Instructor for OT students. Ann has been a member of ADED for multiple years; and, was awarded the Presidential Citation from ADED in 2015 after serving for four years as Secretary.

 
Cassandra, CDRS & TDLR Licensed Teaching Assistant

Cassandra joined Strowmatt Rehab Services in late 2010. She lives in Fort Worth and works with our clients throughout the north central portion of Texas. Cassandra was born and raised in New Mexico. She frequently visited the DFW area and decided to make it her home in 2006. She is the mother of five children and grandmother of two. When she isn't at work, you will usually find her enjoying precious time with her family. Cassandra's background is varied and, until she met Jason Strowmatt, she never realized how all of those experiences blended so well to prepare her for this position. She earned her bachelor's degree from New Mexico State University. Cassandra is a TDLR Licensed Teaching Assistant and a member of the Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialists (ADED); and, became a CDRS in 2015. As the adoptive parent of a disabled child, Cassandra has a first-hand understanding of the challenges and obstacles faced by the individual as well as the supporting family members. This understanding initiated the desire to invest her talents helping disabled clients claim or regain greater independence through acquiring the ability to drive. Cassandra readily adapts to an ever changing environment and is able to individualize her teaching style to fit the specific client. She believes you can work hard yet smile and be light-hearted while you do it. Cassandra works to create a positive learning atmosphere and gives each client the courage to stretch themselves until they confidently master the skill of driving. Cassandra admires the tenacity and determination she recognizes in her clients and receives tremendous satisfaction from their accomplishments. Though her time with each client is brief, she strives to ensure her investment permanently and positively alters their world.

 
Caitlin "Caity", OTR, TDLR Licensed Teaching Assistant

Caity was raised in the small town of Farmersville, Texas. After graduation Caity began her college career at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. Once she discovered the field of occupational therapy she transferred to Texas Woman's University (TWU) in Denton, Texas to attend their occupational therapy program. At TWU Caity received her bachelors of science in family studies and her masters of occupational therapy. Prior to joining Strowmatt Rehab Services in November of 2016, Caity worked 3 years at a post-acute neurological rehabilitation facility treating clients with acquired brain injuries in the clinic and assisting with the facility's driver rehabilitation program. It was during this time that Caity developed a passion for driver rehabilitation and the important role the driving task plays in one's level of independence and life satisfaction. Caity's time spent working with individuals with acquired brain injuries led to her obtaining a specialty certificate in brain injury (CBIS) through the Brain Injury Association of America. Caity is a member of the Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialists (ADED) and aspires to one day become a Certified Driver Rehabilitation Specialist (CDRS). In her free time Caity enjoys spending time with her family and friends, being outdoors, watching and attending sporting events, cheering for the Texas Tech Red Raiders, and participating in church activities.

 
Mark, TDLR Licensed Teaching Assistant

Mark moved to Texas and joined SRS in July 2015. He lives in the Austin area and works with clients in the Central Texas area. He has a bachelor's degree from Ball State University. Mark is a TDLR Licensed Teaching Assistant; and, is a member of the Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialists (ADED). Mark spends his time away from work enjoying his family, officiating basketball and playing golf.

 
Adam, COTA and TDLR Licensed Teaching Assistant

Adam Mignery was born in Goshen, Indiana and settled in the Needville/Rosenberg area after moving to Texas in 2004. He spent years working in various parts of the RV industry and later in sheet metal fabrication until deciding in 2006 to become a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to help people return to Independence in their daily lives after an accident or illness. Adam is now working toward achieving his CDRS with SRS in servicing the South East Texas region.

 
Cassi, Office Manager

Cassi joined Strowmatt Rehabilitation Services in July of 2016. She was born in Houston but raised in rural Tarkington Prairie (Cleveland), Texas until going off to college. Cassi graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station, earning her Bachelor's degree in Environmental Design (Architecture) in the Spring of 2003. Since graduation, Cassi has worked in the Interior Design, Insurance and the Oil & Gas sectors before starting her most prized role of being a special needs Mom and loving wife to her husband Randy. Cassi prides herself on being able to relate to some of our clients daily struggles because she is going through them along-side her terminally ill son Sylas every day. She is the first face that greets you when you come to our office; and, looks forward to making sure our clients have everything they need and their questions answered.

 
Michelle, Part-Time Office Manager

Michelle Robinson has been working for Strowmatt Rehabilitation Services since September 2008. Michelle is also a native to the Houston, Texas area; but, had lived in Ohio, Alaska & Georgia from 1986-1990. She has 25+ years experience in the private sector as well as working for a state agency with a wide variety of titles that range from Clerk Typist to an Administrative Assistant for several Fortune 500 companies as well as even being a receptionist for a veterinary practice in Anchorage. Michelle's primary role at SRS is answering phones and assist potential clients with joining the adaptive driving program and answer any questions they may have, as well as mailing out the pre-appointment information. She is always happy to assist the Office Manager with scheduling, producing quotes; and, when needed relaying information to clients regarding funding programs. In her free time, she and her husband, Ken, enjoy their 3 cats, travelling, movies and going to their favorite Mexican food restaurant. Michelle also serves as Co-Directress on the Alter Guild at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church in Houston.
